New Damage Prevention Coordinator in Southern Region
Alabama 811 is glad to welcome Kim
Covan as our new Damage Prevention Coordinator for the southern region of the state. Kim comes to Alabama 811 with over six years of experience in the natural gas industry. She has a master gas fitter license in Alabama and previously in Florida as well. She worked as a project manager and a branch manager with a municipal
gas system. Prior to the gas industry, Kim worked
as a product specialist with a durable medical equipment company. She has worked with the public in customer service roles for over 20 years. She also worked for a livestock auction on the weekends
for many years. This was one of her favorite jobs because it involved two things she loved: animals
and auctions.
Kim was excited to return to a role that allowed her to use her strengths in customer service
and troubleshooting to be in the trenches of the damage prevention world. This opportunity allows her to focus on helping those learn more about damage prevention, ways to minimize and reduce damages and make their workflow more productive.
When not working Kim enjoys spending time with her family and working with her church family. Kim and her husband Matthew have two daughters Rebecca who is 21, Weslyn who is 19, and a son Ashton who is 17. Kim is an animal lover to the extreme and feels her life would not be complete without all of her four-legged babies.
